Buy Original 8 Mukhi Rudraksha Online

The 8 Mukhi Rudraksha is an eight-faced seed of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, traditionally ruled by Lord Ganesha, with Rahu as its ruling planet. Also called Aath Mukhi Rudraksha, it is worn to remove obstacles, gain clarity before starting new work, and reduce the malefic effects of Rahu. An original bead carries eight unbroken natural mukhi lines with lab certification and an X-ray report. Every 8 Mukhi Rudraksha below is a Nepali bead, individually photographed and lab-certified before dispatch. Each listing shows its own certificate number, size in millimetres and weight in grams, so you know exactly which bead is reaching you. Sizes range from 18.4 mm to 35.7 mm across 152 beads currently in stock.

What is 8 Mukhi Rudraksha? Meaning and Significance

A Rudraksha bead carries natural clefts, called mukhi, that run from top to bottom. An 8 Mukhi Rudraksha has eight such lines formed naturally as the seed grows on the tree. In Rudraksha tradition, the mukhi count decides which deity and which planet the bead is connected to.

The eight faces are associated with Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, and in some traditions with the eight forms of Lord Bhairav. Its ruling planet is Rahu, the shadow planet linked with illusion, sudden gains and losses, confusion and hidden obstacles, which is why the 8 Mukhi Rudraksha is used as a traditional Rahu remedy.

This makes it the bead of clearance rather than calm. It is traditionally worn before starting new work, a new business, a course of study or an important decision, and by people who face repeated delays, blocked plans or confusion with no obvious cause. Unlike a 5 Mukhi Rudraksha, which is common and settling, the 8 Mukhi is worn to clear the path ahead.

8 Mukhi Rudraksha Benefits

  • Removes obstacles and delays Carries the blessing of Lord Ganesha, so it is worn when plans stay blocked or work keeps getting postponed.
  • Success in new beginnings Traditionally worn before starting a business, a new job, a course of study or an important agreement.
  • Rahu remedy Its ruling planet is Rahu, so it is worn during a Rahu mahadasha or antardasha, or when Rahu is afflicted in the birth chart.
  • Clarity and better decisions Rahu is linked with illusion and confusion, so the bead is worn to see a situation as it actually is.
  • Protection from hidden enemies Considered protective against deception, false accusations and harm that is not visible from the front.
  • Wisdom and learning Chosen by students and researchers for focus, memory and steady study.
  • Stability in uncertain phases Believed to steady the mind during job changes, legal matters and financial uncertainty.
  • Freedom from addiction and distraction Rahu is linked with craving and escapism, so the bead is worn to support self-control.
  • Support for material progress Rahu also governs sudden gains, so a balanced Rahu is traditionally linked with growth without shortcuts.

8 Mukhi Rudraksha for Rahu: What Astrology Says

In Vedic astrology, Rahu is the ascending lunar node, associated with illusion, obsession, sudden gains and losses, and obstacles that are not visible from the outside. A weak or afflicted Rahu is traditionally linked with confusion, blocked plans, addiction, false accusations and decisions that look right but turn out wrong.

  • The 8 Mukhi Rudraksha is the bead assigned to Rahu, which is why astrologers suggest it in these situations:
  • During a Rahu mahadasha or Rahu antardasha
  • When Rahu sits in the 1st, 5th, 7th, 8th or 10th house and is causing difficulty
  • When Rahu is conjunct the Moon (Chandra-Rahu) or the lagna lord
  • For Ardra, Swati and Shatabhisha nakshatra natives, whose ruling planet is Rahu
  • When plans repeatedly collapse at the last stage without an obvious external cause
Because Rahu and Ketu always sit opposite each other, many wearers combine an 8 Mukhi Rudraksha, the bead of Rahu, with a 9 Mukhi Rudraksha for Ketu, so both nodes are covered. A birth-chart consultation is advised before choosing this combination.

Who Should Wear 8 Mukhi Rudraksha?

The 8 Mukhi Rudraksha suits people who need a path cleared rather than a mind calmed: students and competitive-exam aspirants, entrepreneurs launching something new, business owners whose deals keep stalling, professionals in transition, people in litigation or paperwork delays, and anyone going through a Rahu mahadasha or antardasha. Both men and women can wear it, and there is no age restriction in traditional practice.

It is also chosen by people who feel confused about a decision they have already thought through, who face repeated last-minute obstacles, who are trying to break a habit or addiction, or who feel that something is working against them without knowing what. In astrology it is suggested where Rahu is weak or afflicted, though a consultation is advised before choosing the bead.

8 Mukhi Rudraksha Price: What Decides the Cost

The price of an original 8 Mukhi Rudraksha in India depends on six things, not on the mukhi count alone:

  • Origin — Nepali beads cost several times more than Indonesian (Java) beads of the same mukhi.
  • Size — a 35 mm bead is far rarer than a 19 mm bead, and priced accordingly.
  • Weight and density — a heavier, solid bead is valued more than a light or hollow one.
  • Clarity of the mukhi lines — eight deep, unbroken, evenly spaced lines command a premium.
  • Surface condition — no cracks, no insect holes and no repair work.
  • Certification — a lab certificate with a unique number and an X-ray report adds verifiable value.

At Rudraksha Sanskar, 8 Mukhi Rudraksha beads are currently priced from ₹[lowest] to ₹50,000. As a reference, Nepali beads in the 32–36 mm range are listed between ₹25,000 and ₹50,000, while smaller beads cost less. If a seller offers a large Nepali 8 Mukhi Rudraksha for a few hundred rupees, it is almost always an Indonesian bead, a carved fake, or a 5 Mukhi bead with cut lines.

How to Identify Original 8 Mukhi Rudraksha

  • Count the lines in daylight. There must be exactly eight natural clefts running unbroken from the top hole to the bottom hole.
  • Check whether the lines are natural or cut. A natural mukhi is uneven and follows the surface; a carved line is straight, sharp-edged and often paler inside.
  • Look at the mukhi joints. On a real bead the lines meet the top and bottom naturally. Glued or joined beads show a seam.
  • Feel the surface. An original Nepali bead has natural thorny elevations, not a polished plastic-smooth finish. Heavy polish is used to hide carved lines.
  • Ask for the X-ray report. An X-ray shows internal compartments; an original 8 Mukhi has compartments matching its face count, and a fake or plugged bead shows up clearly.
  • Ask for a lab certificate with a unique number that you can match to the exact bead you receive, not a generic printout.
  • Judge the price. A large, deep-mukhi Nepali 8 Mukhi Rudraksha cannot be cheap. Unusually low prices are the most common warning sign.

Avoid sellers who use stock photographs, refuse close-up images of the mukhi lines, or cannot show certification. Every bead on this page is photographed individually and carries its own certificate number.

How to Wear 8 Mukhi Rudraksha: Day, Method and Mantra

  • Choose the day. Wednesday is traditionally preferred for a Ganesha bead. Monday also works, since every Rudraksha belongs to Lord Shiva, and Ganesh Chaturthi is considered especially auspicious.
  • Bathe and sit clean. Begin in the morning after a bath, facing east, in a clean and quiet place.
  • Cleanse the bead. Rinse it in clean water, then in raw cow’s milk or Ganga jal if available, rinse again and wipe dry. A light touch of pure ghee or sandalwood paste is used in some traditions.
  • Energise it. Place the bead before an image of Lord Ganesha or a Shiva lingam, offer durva grass, flowers and incense, and chant the beej mantra Om Hum Namah 108 times. Om Gan Ganapataye Namah may be chanted as well.
  • Wear it. Wear it as a pendant on a red or yellow cotton or silk thread, or capped in silver, gold or panchdhatu, so the bead rests near the heart and stays in contact with the skin.
  • Keep it on. Traditionally the bead is worn continuously, including while sleeping. Remove it during oil massage, chemical hair treatment or any work where it can be soiled or struck.
  • Maintain the practice. Chant the mantra briefly every morning. Consistency matters more than an elaborate ritual.

Care, Precautions and Who Should Avoid It

  • Keep the bead clean and dry, and wipe it with a soft cloth. Apply a drop of pure mustard or sesame oil every few months so the surface does not dry out and crack.
  • Remove it before an oil massage, a swimming pool, a salon chemical treatment or heavy physical work where it can be hit.
  • Keep it away from strong perfume, deodorant and household chemicals.
  • Do not share your bead. A Rudraksha is worn as a personal item.
  • Traditional practice advises removing it, or following your own family custom, at cremation grounds and during periods of ritual impurity.
  • Store it on a clean cloth or in a wooden or silver box, not loose in a drawer with metal.
  • Who should reconsider: anyone buying it only as a shortcut past a problem that needs practical action, and anyone new to Rudraksha who has not taken guidance. A Rahu remedy should be chosen from the birth chart, not from a product page. Take a consultation first.
  • If you have any medical condition, treat Rudraksha as a practice alongside medical care, never instead of it.
